Who We Are

GridlessLabs is an independent, self-funded portable-power testing laboratory. We do not accept payment for editorial placement, early access embargoes, or preferential review scheduling. Every product that appears on this site — whether in a full teardown, a head‑to‑head comparison, or a “best of” roundup — has been purchased at retail price using our own budget or, where that is not feasible, sourced anonymously from a third-party retailer.

How We Earn Revenue

GridlessLabs participates in several affiliate advertising programs, including the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and direct manufacturer partner networks. When you click a product link marked with rel="sponsored" and complete a qualifying purchase, we may earn a small commission from the retailer.

This commission comes at absolutely zero additional cost to you. The price you pay is identical to what you would pay visiting the retailer directly — the commission is paid by the merchant, not the buyer.

Where the Money Goes

Every dollar of affiliate revenue is reinvested directly into the lab. Your purchases fund:

  • Programmable DC electronic loads and four‑wire Kelvin measurement rigs for accurate capacity validation.
  • Digital storage oscilloscopes used to verify inverter waveform purity under real-world inductive loads.
  • Thermal imaging cameras and environmental chambers for temperature‑controlled stress testing.
  • Retail purchases of new units the moment they ship, keeping our review queue independent of manufacturer PR timelines.

We publish our testing methodology in full on every review page. There are no paywalls, no sponsored posts, and no display advertisements on GridlessLabs — just reader-funded, lab‑grade journalism.

The Editorial Firewall

A product that pays a higher commission rate is never given preferential placement over a technically superior competitor. Our recommendation engine, star ratings, and “best match” algorithm are driven exclusively by quantitative bench data — capacity curves, inverter efficiency, charge‑time measurements, and long‑term cycle degradation — not by affiliate economics. If a manufacturer offers us a higher commission to improve their ranking, the answer is always no.

What “Lab-Verified” Means

The green Lab-verified badge you see on select product cards is not marketing fluff. It indicates that the unit in question has completed a minimum of 40 hours of controlled cycle testing in our facility, including full‑rate discharge, multi‑source recharge, inverter overload recovery, and idle‑consumption profiling. Spec‑sheet claims that cannot be independently reproduced are flagged in the review.

Questions or Concerns?

If you have questions about how we earn revenue, how a specific product was sourced, or how our methodology applies to a particular review, we welcome the conversation. Visit our Contact page — we read and respond to every inquiry.
